Good Place with Kelly
Kelly is back. Fun and bubbly with a BIG smile he stood out coming to our run clubs a few years ago. We’ve had lots of fun since and so was doing this interview. Happy to let you get to know Kelly too, he’s a blast!
JR: Hey Kelly, let us dive right into it: Why do you move?
K: I’d say movement helps me feel good and clear my head. It’s a cliché, but working in a corporate yet creative space, I think it helps me reset.
JR: And, what are your favorite types of activities?
K: I’d say a long Saturday run with a friend. Just chit-chatting the whole way, forgetting about where we’re going and how fast we’re running.
JR: And you go super fast, right?
K: Super, super fast. Sub-three, haha no. But honestly, we talk about anything and everything. Feelings, work, relationships and weekend plans.
JR: And you’re from Ljusdalen?
K: No, Sandviken!
JR: What was your relation-ship with physical exercise growing up?
K: My mom is a personal trainer. So I've been going to the gym since the day I turned 15.
JR: And what was it like having your mother as PT?
K: Ohhh really awful. Our Christmases starts with Cross Fit on empty stomachs. I can't even remember how many Christmas’s I've started off crying just because I didn’t want to do it.
JR: Haha, that sounds tough! I never do anything but would be excited like a puppy if my family wanted to go for a Christmas run with me.
JR: Do you remember when we first met?
K: It was here, I think during a Smiles Club run. My friend Moa brought me.
We just came here and ran with you guys, it was 10/10.
JR: That was a long time ago.
K: Yeah, I think like three years ago. Time flies.
JR: Yup. Full circle moment right here. As you’ve been running for some time now. Do you have any tips for people who want to get started with running?
K: Uhm. First, don’t be scared of running clubs. I think finding a community and people to run with helps a lot, because people are usually very, very nice. And, also, don’t put such high expectations on yourself.
JR: Those are some really nice tips actually!
K: It’s better to run 2K than not run at all.
JR: I agree. Everyday.
JR: Moving on Kelly, it wouldn’t be a Good Place interview if I did not ask you what you do to treat yourself?
K: I’m ready. Can we talk about alcohol?
JR: Sure. You saw our latest campaign, right? haha
K: Yeah, yeah, exactly. Drinking gin and tonics, or having a drink in the sun. A beer, whatever is great way to treat myself. I’m 25. I need to do my fair share of partying before it’s over. Before I’m like 45.
JR: I’m soon there! lol!
K: Yeah, exactly. But more or less, just enjoying being young and dumb now, if I can say that.
JR: Enjoy it. It's good. Do you find the balance?
K: Yeah, one hundred percent. For example, running a bit the day after, just to beat the hangover is great.
JR: I do that too. Some people think I’m crazy.
K: Yeah. It helps a lot. I remember when you did a Smiles Club around a year ago, and I was insanely hungover.
JR: I couldn't tell!
JR: Where and who are you 50 years from now?
K: Fifty years is such a long time. I hope I’m happy and content with the life I’ve lived and the life I’m still living.
I’m definitely one of those old men who’s always up to something, always out and about (perhaps running).
JR: Being content is good.
K: I’ll definitely be retired by then, having travelled, seen the world, and maybe become a dad or even a grandpa.
JR: Beautiful, always a joy seeing you Kelly and thank you for sharing.
Kelly: Always, thank you!
